Shimano SLX / 105 grade RT-CL700 Ice Tech rotors give excellent performance using the proven Shimano Centre Lock system providing excellent rigidity and security with an easy set-up.
Technology
3D Aluminium Carrier
Optimised 3D-shaped aluminium carrier is designed purposefully in every single dimension and achieves lightweight and superb heat distortion resistance.
This prevents the entire rotor from deforming due to heat and reduces rubbing noise while riding.
CentreLock
The CentreLock system makes an easy rotor installation possible with spline mount and a lock ring. The lock ring mounting system reduces the total working hours by shortening the amount of time of both installation and de-installation. In addition, the secure fixing by the spline mount enhances precision and rigidity while improving braking efficiency.
- Light weight
- Centre Lock compatible hub has only spline mount and a lock ring. This means the lightweight of hub and rotor compared to 6-bolt mount system
- Lock ring rotor mounting system
- Allows easier and faster rotor installation. Easy maintenance
- Secure fixing by spline mount
- Improves braking efficiency
Ice Technologies Freeza
Ice Technologies Freeza rotors utilize the 3-layer stainless steel-aluminium-stainless steel sandwich structure to reduce heat buildup. The inner aluminium layer extends inward with a wide exposed radiator fin that boosts its cooling capabilities.
Stay Cool. Keep Quiet. Stop Faster.
Ice Technologies combined with Freeza disc brake rotor construction rapidly dissipates heat for more consistent braking performance in extreme conditions, longer pad life, and less brake fade and noise.
Aluminium radiator fins boost cooling capabilities to enhance braking performance
Ice Technologies Freeza rotors feature an extended inner aluminium layer with wide, exposed radiator fins that boost cooling capabilities.
Shimano Ice Technologies Freeza rotors offer an impressive 100°C (212°F) reduction in heat build-up compared to standard stainless-steel rotors and a 40℃ (104°F) reduction in heat buildup compared to Shimano's Ice Technology rotors. Shimano's premium rotors also feature a special heat dissipation paint on the fins that can further reduce heat buildup by 10℃ (50F°).
Comparison of heat dissipation or cooling performance:
Up to 140°C reduction in heat (Vs stainless steel disc brake rotor). Reduce more 10°C by high heat dissipation paint (Equipped: SM-RT900 and RT-MT900).
Features
- The clad steel / alloy / steel rotor construction allows heat generated from braking to radiate quickly through the aluminium core achieving surface temperature drops of around 50°C. When used with Ice Tech pads surface temperatures can drop from around 400 to 300°C, this provides great improvements in performance all round
- Ice Tech rotors achieve long pad life, less noise and less fade due to improved heat dispersion
- Rotor contact surface has been developed for excellent pad clearing and cooling which increases pad performance and life
- Comes complete with steel lockring
