The M6230 shifter brings a new ergonomic lever design to the Deore 11-Speed drivetrain. Pair with the M7230 LinkGlide long-cage rear derailleur and 11-50T cassette for the ideal E-MTB setup, or add it as an upgrade to previous-generation LinkGlide 11-Speed drivetrains. The shifter offers precise and smooth shifting through a refined release lever that features 2-Way Release and double shifts, while an I-Spec EV clamp band adds versatility and comfort when setting up the shifter on the handlebar.

Rapidfire Plus

Mountain bikers have used Rapidfire Plus since 1991. Rapidfire Plus is still a winning choice from a wide range of riders from XC racers to freeriders. Rapidfire Plus is suited to quick shifting, giving riders the ability to downshift three gears in one stroke. Rapidfire Plus shifters from Deore to XTR all feature 2-Way Release, which means release shifts by pull of the index finger or push of the thumb.

Since its debut in 1992, the Rapidfire Plus has been flat bar included in racing component kits for MTBs. The Rapidfire Plus has two levers, which are operated by the thumb and index finger. This allows you to shift gears reliably with minimum action while firmly holding the handle grips. This product is recommended for fullfledged sports riding. The Alivio is equipped with a 2-Way Release mechanism to allow gear change by either pushing the upshifting lever with the thumb or pulling it with the index finger. Shifting lever integrated with a hydraulic disc brake lever is available at Alivio and Acera grade.

2-Way Release

The Rapidfire Plus shifter release lever is commonly called a trigger because it is operated like a pistol, by pulling toward the grip. The release lever of Rapidfire Plus shifters from Shimano Alivio to XTR can be operated in this same manner but adds the ability to activate a release shift by pushing with the thumb.

With its wider adjustment range, I-Spec EV levers can be adjusted to the optimal position to match a wider range of riding styles (Enduro / XC / etc...), rider preferences and rider anatomies (Hand and arm alignment).

I-Spec EV increases brake lever rigidity by moving the brake clamp position inward to create an extra point of contact between the bar and the lever. This additional bracing drastically increases bike control and braking engagement while maintaining space between the clamp and support point for other handlebar accessories.
