Twin piston Deore M6200 brake caliper providing efficient braking with a minimalist design.
When weight is a bigger factor, the M6200 two-piston brake calipers just might be the ticket. They offer the same consistent braking and excellent modulation but shave weight than the four-piston M6220 model. The M6200 incorporates the same features as the entire caliper line, designed to keep braking stable over a wider range of temperatures.
Technology
Ice Technologies
Shimano Ice Technologies components deliver more consistent braking performance by reducing heat buildup in the system. This helps prevent brake fade, which can happen when a rider applies the brakes repeatedly and strongly over a short period of time, such as when descending a long, steep hill.
Shimano has adopted Ice Technologies disc brake rotor and Ice Technologies pad to realize the cooling technology for consistent performance. The clad disc brake rotor blade, which has a 3 layer-sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminium and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance. Also, the radiation fin has been adopted for the pad. Moreover, the clad disc brake rotor blade and the radiator fin provide long pad life, less noise, less fade and lightweight.
Clad rotors as well as Clad Brake pads significantly reduce heat build-up in the brake system. This in turn reduces fading, which ensures consistent high performance even on long downhill stretches, It also results in a longer pad life and substantially quieter braking.
One Way Bleeding
"One Way Bleeding" was developed for quick and easy prevention of air in Shimano's hydraulic system. Shimano have streamlined the oil route throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from being captured in the system.
One way oil routing plus a funnel tool with mineral oil provides an easy and clean bleeding system.
Features
- Two-piece Construction: Rigid, durable design
- 2-piston Design: Weight savings and modulation are top priorities
- Temperature Stability: New low-viscosity oil, new piston seal and new heat-resistant resin piston result in stability over a wider range of temperatures
- Pad Compatibility: Works seamlessly with non-finned metal or resin pads
- The one way internal fluid circuit makes bleeding easy, while great piston retraction increases pad to rotor clearance
- Shim-less mounting bracket allows for quick installation and set up
- Compatible with international standard and post mount forks
- To be used in conjunction with Shimano hydraulic brake levers
- Can be used with Ice Tech pads available in resin or sintered compound, the optional aluminium radiation fin pad further improves heat dissipation reducing brake surface temperature by 50°C
- Comes as standard with G05S resin pads
