Dual Control Lever
DCL stands for Dual Control Lever. It has brake and shifting functions in the system and enables easy operation.
Ergonomic innovation is probably more critical to the higher standard performance than the added gearing. The shift internals borrow the robustness from our MTB technology and are so smooth and effortless that one finger shifts front and rear are possible. Indeed, shifting is the ultimate act of Shimano Total Integration, and simply has to be experienced to be understood.
The Dura-Ace / Ultegra / 105 Dual Control Lever have an optimised structure with features that include the lighter weight pivot section in the near side of the shifting unit and the integral shifting cable for lighter steering. Its many component parts are made so compact and precise to achieve unprecedented high-speed performance.

- Ergonomic short shift arc follows natural hand movement with inward shift stroke distance reduced for rapid and precise gear changes
- Hydraulic brake lever provides powerful, controllable and consistent stopping power with less effort especially from the hood position
- Hydraulic reservoir tank provides pad to rotor clearance auto-adjust maintaining braking performance during pad wear
- Kit includes ST-R7020 STI, BR-R7070 flat mount brake calipers with pads, hoses, and comes pre-bled with mineral oil (without rotors or adapters)
- Tuneable reach adjusters enable custom fitment for all hands up to 10mm
- Comes complete with Optislick coated cables and silicon greased outer casing to further reduce shift friction and increase service life
- Easy bleed and clean hydraulic system, for use with Shimano mineral oil only
