Initially developed so that Campagnolo could produce wheels compatible with brake and drive systems by Shimano and SRAM, allowing Campagnolo to retain its exclusivity. However Fulcrum still produce Campagnolo-compatible wheels.

Red Zone 7 wheels are designed for mountain biking and are an introduction to the Fulcrum world, hence they have the character and key features that every wheel must have in order to be approved and added to the catalogue.

Reliable and genuine, these wheels are meticulously built and able to adapt to the most varied contexts. Red Zone 7s are aluminium Cross Country-Marathon wheels that perform well both as training wheels or when alternated with racing wheelsets. They are also ideal for those who are becoming acquainted with mountain biking and want to put their best foot forward.

Technologies

Axial Fixing System

The Axial Fixing System is the solution developed by Fulcrum to fix the disc brake to the hub. The constraint granted by the butt area of the release mechanism, greater than in familiar standard ones, makes it possible to obtain greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.

2-Way Fit Ready (MTB)

This procedure transforms Red Zone 500-700 and Red Fire 500 wheels (designed to be used with an inner tube) into Tubeless Ready wheels (i.e. without the use of an inner tube but with the compulsory use of a sealant liquid).

Microspline Freehub

We understand technical evolution as painstaking attention to product development, and it’s one of the cornerstones of all projects that come out of our R&D Department.

The Fulcrum spirit entails a constant effort to pick up and seize on new trends and keep pace with the most advanced technologies available.

This is why we adopted Shimano's MicroSpline standard as soon as the new racing drivetrains for 12-speed mountain bikes were presented, and will introduce the ground-breaking technology throughout our range.

The Shimano MicroSpline option will be available on all MTB and E-MTB wheels in the MY2020 catalogue.

At the same time, it will be possible to convert all wheels in the Red Zone, Red Metal and Red Fire range and all previously purchased and used E-MTBs featuring different bodies using a conversion kit comprising body and pivot.
