For precision riding on challenging trails, a trail tough hardtail is a rewarding choice. The Reaction TM is built for the job with a frame optimised for great handling, 14mm of front wheel travel, a dropper post and loads of room for tyres up to 2.5in. It's got fun times written all over it!
We're picky about which bikes get to wear the Trail Motion name, but the new Reaction TM ONE has earned its place in this special Cube category. Its long, low and slack frame - built to make tough trails easy to handle - is just the beginning. We chose an SR Suntour XCR34 air fork up front for its simple adjustment, 14mm of travel and super-precise steering. It's your wingman for when things get rowdy. Schwalbe's Magic Mary and Big Betty 2.4in tyres aid and abet your line choices, helped along by a remote dropper post. Magura's powerful MT Thirty hydraulic disc brakes with a 23mm rotor up front keep everything under control. And Shimano's 1 x 1 Cues gears put the right ratio at your fingertips. It's got it all - the rest is down to you.
There's more than one way to get down a tough trail, and the Reaction TM is a solid choice. With a 65° head angle, 73.5° seat tube angle and a low standover, it's designed to be stable and reassuring when the trail is throwing questions at you and you're not sure of the answer. Short chainstays tuck the rear wheel under the rider for tight handling and superior traction, and there's plenty of clearance to run tyres up to 2.5in. Stealth dropper routing is standard, of course, as is a UDH hanger for future-proof gearing. And we included a durable moulded chainstay protector for quiet descents, plus an ISCG chain guide to keep everything on track.
Features
There's aluminium, and then there's Cube Aluminium Lite. This heat-treated 661 aluminium is stiff, fatigue-resistant and, because of its natural corrosion resistance, a great material from which to make lightweight tube sets - and bicycle frames. And it does all this without adding unnecessary weight, so you can get the best enjoyment out of your CUBE.
The right bike should fit you perfectly. That's why we created SizeSplit. For shorter riders, the smaller 27.5in wheel standard allows us to build frames that fit well while remaining agile and sure-footed. And, for taller riders, we built a range of sizes around the fast-rolling 29er wheel standard. Whichever one you choose, you can be sure of a fit that makes your bike feel as though it was built just for you.
Cables connect your handlebar controls to vital components like gears and brakes, but there's no need for them to get in your way. With Internal Cable Routing we've reduced clutter and maintenance by running cables through the frame, keeping them out of the way of dust and water contamination - or damage from abrasion - as well as cleaning up your bike's appearance.
When you live to ride trails for fun, flat out, our Trail Motion Geometry is what you need. A little more suspension travel up front, plenty of room to move around and with a cockpit design that emphasises maneouvrability, the icing on the cake is always the extra care we take selecting brakes and wheels for our TM bikes.
A dropper post is a great accessory for adventurous riding, adding confidence and control on steep descents. Our Dropper Post Ready bikes are all set for this worthwhile upgrade, because they include internal cable routing for the remote lever that controls the seatpost. Once installed, you'll forget it's there... until you need it.
Smooth Welding isn't easy, but worthwhile things usually aren't. It has two advantages. First, and most obviously, it looks great: one tube seems to almost flow into the other. Second, and at least as importantly, it helps to minimise load peaks on welded areas for better frame strength and durability.
