No road? No problem. The Nuroad Rookie will keep going where other bikes can't, thanks to its wide-profile tyres and gravel-oriented component selection. For family rides into the unknown it's an unbeatable blend of low weight, comfort and versatility, all perfectly proportioned for younger riders.
For those times when the road peters out on a family ride, the Nuroad Rookie has the cojones to keep going. With tough, comfortable and grippy 4mm Schwalbe tyres fitted to a pair of Cube disc wheels as standard, it doesn't care whether you're rolling on tarmac or gravel. The full carbon fork saves weight and adds extra comfort, even for long days in the saddle. Mechanical disc brakes serve up ample stopping power whatever the weather gets up to, and 1 x 1 gears have the range to make light work of any route. It's got adventure in its DNA, so you can feed their curiosity.
Blending the off-road pedigree of our cyclocross bikes with the agility of our road machines and a hint of mountain bike DNA, the Nuroad Rookie's frame is perfectly proportioned for younger riders. We've not skimped on the details, either. Generous clearances mean there's plenty of room for larger-profile tyres, and rack and mudguard mounts open up a host of options for add-on accessories and extended adventures. There's even a full carbon fork, too, which is a more comfortable option than aluminium.
Features
A gravel bike is a supremely versatile beast, which is why all our gravel models have a fender and rack option. With generous frame clearances to fit comfortable, safe and grippy tyres even with full length mudguards, we also neatly integrated the rear rack into the mudguard design - and included a rear light, too.
Combining everything we know about building great-riding off-road bikes, Gravel Comfort Geometry is the secret ingredient that makes our gravel series such a blast to ride. Nimble enough to mix it up in the rough, stable enough for reassuring descents and with comfort for the long haul, we've got it all covered.
CUBE's Aluminium Superlite starts with heat-treated 661 aluminium, which has the qualities - high fatigue resistance, good stiffness, low weight and excellent strength - that are important for a bicycle frame. Then we make it into double butted tubes, to reduce weight without sacrificing any of its strength. The result? Exceptionally light, strong and tough frames.
