Life can come at you pretty fast - and that's where the Editor Hybrid SLX FE 4X comes in. With its lightweight Bosch SX power, elegant design and practical components including rear carrier, lights, mudguard and kickstand, there's no better way to keep up with a busy schedule.

A sleek, lightweight E-Bike is great... but what if you also need to carry shopping or work-related stuff across town? The Editor Hybrid SLX FE 4X has it covered. With its rugged carrier, full mudguards, bright lights and practical kickstand, we've kitted it out with everything you're likely to need for work or play. The light, powerful Bosch SX drive system - with integrated 4Wh battery and top tube controller - works with low maintenance, easy-to-use Shimano 8-speed hub gears to deliver you to your destination quickly and almost effortlessly. And, with grippy Continental tyres and powerful all-weather Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, the ride will be both safe and comfortable. It's got your back.

So sleek and understated is the Editor Hybrid FE's frame, at first glance it barely looks like an e-bike. Lightweight, durable aluminium construction with Smooth Welding at the main tube joints creates an elegant frame, while the full carbon fork is both light and strong. We integrated the cables for long service life and better looks, and the 4Wh battery is built into the down tube to save space and weight. There's a versatile, rugged rear carrier and an optional front carrier for carrying your belongings. And we included full mudguards, a bright lighting set and a practical kickstand, so you've got everything you need.

How important is material choice? When it comes to the fork that holds your front wheel, more important than you might think. Not only is our Carbon Fork exceptionally light and strong, it's also surprisingly comfortable to ride. And, when you're weaving your way through city streets, those are all qualities that you'll appreciate.

Gear and brake cables need a way to get from handlebar controls to frame - but what if there was no need for holes near the head tube? We came up with a design that takes cables into the frame via the headset, maintaining full internal cable routing but making it even neater and less obtrusive.

Bosch SX technology incorporates a new, lighter and more configurable battery setup. To make the most of the weight saving, we've integrated the new battery fully into the down tube. This means we can position it optimally for the best weight distribution and handling, as well as saving more weight by building a down tube that's precisely the right size to fit, and without the need for an access hatch. And the Power More option means you can add an additional 25Wh battery quickly and simply, for extra range. It's the best of both worlds.

With the ability to safely accommodate a Eurobox of 3mm x 4mm, up to 2kg in weight and RILink accessories, you'll wonder how you managed without.

Smooth Welding isn't easy, but worthwhile things usually aren't. It has two advantages. First, and most obviously, it looks great: one tube seems to almost flow into the other. Second, and at least as importantly, it helps to minimise load peaks on welded areas for better frame strength and durability.

CUBE's Aluminium Superlite starts with heat-treated 661 aluminium, which has the qualities - high fatigue resistance, good stiffness, low weight and excellent strength - that are important for a bicycle frame. Then we make it into double butted tubes, to reduce weight without sacrificing any of its strength. The result? Exceptionally light, strong and tough frames.
