Details

Crank arms, spider and chainrings – the Afterburner has been completely redesigned for higher performance than ever. Those svelte new arms are hollow-forged from tough aluminum and clamp to a 30mm alloy spindle for the ultimate rough-trail strength. Chainring bolts are also chromoly, while clever design of the non-driveside arm eliminates the weak point of a pinchbolt. The outer chainring is CNC-machined from hard-wearing 7075 aluminum, while the middle and inner are stamped from the same lightweight material. Overall weight is just 803g. The 11-speed Afterburner is available as a double in seven gearing options to cover every wheelsize and use. The sandblasted matte finish combines with polished highlights and sections of beautiful aluminium to exude a monolithic energy that belies its low weight. Subtle logos only enhance the look. Laser etching means the graphics last, too, whatever the weather throws at them.

Hollow Forging Aluminium Technology

FSA manipulates a single block of 7050-T6 aluminum to yield a hollow crankarm with a superior strength-to-weight ratio.

FSA way to indicate the Anti-drop chainrings, it’s the main feature for all the 1x FSA chainrings. Very long, asymmetric teeth in a thick-thin alternation create a tremendously quiet and secure engagement.
