UCI-Compliant S-PHYRE Aero Shoe Covers Designed to Save Precious Seconds in Time Trials
Shimano's aero-focused S-PHYRE Flash Shoe Covers were developed through extensive wind tunnel testing. By experimenting with several candidates, Shimano found an aero fabric for the upper portion of the shoe cover that significantly reduced air resistance at speeds between 50 and 60km/h. For the part that wraps the shoe, Shimano adopted an elastic fabric that eliminates gaps or protrusions caused by dials or other elements to ensure flap-free stability at high speeds.
