Ruggedness and elegance don't often go hand in hand, but the Kathmandu Pro is the exception that proves the rule. With its Integrated Carrier 3.0, Smooth Welding and internal cable routing, it's as practical as it is great to look at. We designed the Kathmandu Pro to have everything you need and nothing that you don't. From the redesigned Integrated Carrier to the full-length mudguards, front and rear lights and Cube FM kickstand, it's the practical everyday companion that's rugged enough to take on longer trips, too. A Suntour air suspension fork makes even the roughest roads smoother, for a more comfortable ride. Shimano's legendarily reliable 3 x 10 gears give you the range you need to make light work of any route. And Shimano hydraulic disc brakes ensure you can always stop safely, no matter what you're carrying or what the weather is throwing your way. Urban jungle or distant horizon, the Kathmandu Pro has got your back.

We've taken everything that's good about the Kathmandu and made it even better. So, for example, the reworked Integrated Carrier 3.0 is designed to work seamlessly with our Acid mudguard. We've fitted a flat mount for the rear disc brake - it also accommodates the kickstand - and used Smooth Welding to give the frame joints a tidy, organic appearance. But it's not all about looks. We also equipped the rear end with a thru axle and added a tapered head tube for improved rigidity and steering precision, even when fully laden. With internal cable routing to keep your gear shifts smooth with minimal maintenance, we reckon we've thought of everything. Just don't forget your toothbrush...

Features

Cube's Aluminium Superlite starts with heat-treated 6061 aluminium, which has the qualities - high fatigue resistance, good stiffness, low weight and excellent strength - that are important for a bicycle frame. Then we make it into double butted tubes, to reduce weight without sacrificing any of its strength. The result? Exceptionally light, strong and tough frames.

Smooth Welding isn't easy, but worthwhile things usually aren't. It has two advantages. First, and most obviously, it looks great: one tube seems to almost flow into the other. Second, and at least as importantly, it helps to minimise load peaks on welded areas for better frame strength and durability.

The Integrated Carrier 3.0 is the next level in system integration: from the side, it's hard to tell where the luggage carrier ends and the mudguard begins. But it doesn't just look good, it's also incredibly strong and rigid. With an integrated spring clamp and Cube Rilink ready adaptor for mounting bags and baskets, it transforms your Cube into an adaptable and versatile load carrier.
