Sturdy family bike

Effortless and very comfortable cycling under all conceivable conditions. That is what the Bloom HMS stands for. On this sturdy electric bike you can cycle on your own, with the shopping or with one or two children. A bike for every occasion. The Bloom HMS is comfortable as well as safe. And as cherry on the cake, it has a distinctive design fully in line with Gazelle.

Extra long wheelbase

The Bloom HMS has an extra long wheelbase. This means that there is on average more space between the saddle and the handlebar. In combination with the low step-through, getting on and off is extremely easy. This makes it very easy and safe to take a small child with you in the child seat. You can manoeuvre easily through the often busy city traffic.

Hydraulic disc brakes

The hydraulic disc brakes provide many advantages. For example, you are assured of excellent braking performance under all circumstances. So if you are cycling in the rain or on a muddy road, you can come to a quick standstill. It is light to operate and the braking power can be applied progressively thanks to the use of oil pressure. An additional advantage of hydraulic disc brakes is that they do not wear the rim.

How Does An Electric Bike Work?

An electric system consists of a number of main components:

  • Battery: Integrated into the luggage carrier or located behind the seat tube (depending on the model)
  • Motor: Built into the frame at the bottom bracket or in the front wheel
  • Display: Fitted on the handlebar
  • Sensors: Every electric system has a speed sensor, which as its name suggests, measures how fast the bike is being ridden. In addition, riding behaviour is determined by a rotation sensor or a pedal force sensor depending on the model. The Impulse system in addition has a fourth sensor, namely the shift sensor. This sensor cuts out assistance for a quarter of a second while you are shifting which enables you to keep on pedalling while shifting.

Together the sensors determine the amount assistance provided by the motor based on your assistance level setting and the pedal force you are applying. You set the assistance level yourself using the handlebar grip control.
