Looks can be deceiving, but in the case of the Kathmandu EXC what you see is what you get. From the Smooth Welding frame joints to the incredibly neat Integrated Carrier 3., it's a design masterpiece in its own right. Add easy-to-use Shimano gears and a full set of accessories, and this is clearly a bike that's going places.

From zipping across town to tackling mountain passes you've never ridden before, the Kathmandu EXC from Cube is designed to get you there - and back - in comfort and style. We chose Shimano's Cues 2x11 gears for their ease of use and reliability. Then we added powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and Continental's Pure Contact tyres made from sustainably sourced rubber, so you know you're in full control at all times. Finally, we selected an easily adjustable Suntour air suspension fork to take the edge off rough road surfaces. With our Integrated Carrier 3. and a full complement of accessories - including mudguards, kickstand and lights - you've everything you need. Just jump on and go.

Attention to detail is a Cube obsession. That's why, with the Kathmandu's Integrated Carrier 3., we designed it to work seamlessly with our Acid mudguard. We've fitted a flat mount for the rear disc brake - it also accommodates the kickstand - and used Smooth Welding to give the frame joints a tidy, organic appearance. But it's not all about looks. We also equipped the rear end with a thru axle and added a tapered head tube for improved rigidity and steering precision, even when fully laden. With Internal Cable Routing to keep your gear shifts smooth with minimal maintenance, we reckon we've thought of everything. Just don't forget your toothbrush.

The Integrated Carrier 3. is the next level in system integration: from the side, it's hard to tell where the luggage carrier ends and the mudguard begins. But it doesn't just look good, it's also incredibly strong and rigid. With an integrated spring clamp and Cube Rilink ready adaptor for mounting bags and baskets, it transforms your Cube into an adaptable and versatile load carrier.

Our trekking series is designed to take you wherever your curiosity leads you. So, of course, you'll want a comfortable ride. With a natural feeling seated position and handling that's stable and reassuring with or without a load, Trekking Comfort Geometry does exactly what it says no matter how much experience you have of cycling.

Smooth Welding isn't easy, but worthwhile things usually aren't. It has two advantages. First, and most obviously, it looks great: one tube seems to almost flow into the other. Second, and at least as importantly, it helps to minimise load peaks on welded areas for better frame strength and durability.

Cables for your gears and brakes are essential, but you don't necessarily want to see them all the time. Our semi internal cable routing takes gear and brake cables through the down tube for a cleaner appearance, smoother shifts and reduced maintenance. So your Cube bike looks good and continues to function as it should, and you just concentrate on enjoying the ride.

CUBE's Aluminium Superlite starts with heat-treated 661 aluminium, which has the qualities - high fatigue resistance, good stiffness, low weight and excellent strength - that are important for a bicycle frame. Then we make it into double butted tubes, to reduce weight without sacrificing any of its strength. The result? Exceptionally light, strong and tough frames.
