A stormproof cycling jacket for racing in the rain, engineered with extreme breathability, fully taped seams, and a second-skin, aerodynamic fit.

When it comes to rain jackets, internal moisture is almost a bigger threat than external. Assos developed the new HYDRA 3L softshell to solve that issue, dialing breathability to virtually impossible levels while using taped seams and an ECO DWR treatment to ensure a dry microclimate. Perspiration is expelled, and precipitation is repelled, regardless of the intensity of the pace or the conditions.If the temperature rises, a double-slide zipper lets you vent from the bottom up, maintaining a shell across your shoulders and chest while releasing excess heat, and the highly elastic cuffs and hem are coated to create a watertight seal, even when layering over gloves or thermal midlayers. With an ultra-compact volume, the R Rain Jacket S11 disappears into a jersey pocket when not needed.

The main textile is HYDRA, a 3L softshell that combines complete stormproof protection with impossible breathability (50900g /m²/24h) and a low-volume construction that packs down to the size of an accessory for pocket storage. Panels of AVANTGARDE on the hem and forearms add a coated, stormproof shield against road spray. All materials are PFAS free.

Construction/Fit

Assos' AEPD 11 racingFit is a second-skin, aerodynamic silhouette designed with WorldTour feedback to envelope the body in 360-degree compression and stability. Fully taped seams ensure total waterproof protection.

Engineering

FastClosure: A double-zip construction that allows ventilation from top or bottom. An auto-alignment design guides the sliders into engagement for operation with gloves or in inclement weather conditions.

Reflective Detailing: Reflective logos increase visibility in the low-light, overcast conditions when wind and rain protection are most valuable.
